Samsung and Yuchengco Museum Launch Interactive Exhibit on National Artist BenCab

Samsung Electronics Philippines showcase the “Art” works of Philippines National Artist for Visual Arts Mr. Benedicto Cabrera, popularly know as BenCab, also marks his 50 years as an artist.

Over the years, BenCab has built a monument to Philippine contemporary art and has inspired thousands of artists through his paintings and fine art prints.

Samsung Electronics Philippines supports the Yuchengco Museum’s tribute exhibition to BenCab in celebration of his 50th anniversary. The interactive exhibit, dubbed BenCab in Two Movements, will be on view at the museum from 1 October 2015 to 16 January 2016.


The exhibition highlights BenCab’s handpicked works he created to capture the dance movements of London-based Chinese dancer San Lee, and Polish dancer and choreographer Paulina Wycichowska.

“We believe that art is something to be experienced by everyone, and that Smart TV is the perfect vehicle to make art accessible to all. It is Samsung Philippines’ honor to present the works of National Artist BenCab through the wonders of technology, showcasing two forms of artistry through brush strokes and dance movements,” said Jupiter Guibone, Director of Samsung AV Group.

Through Samsung’s SUHD and UHD TV technologies, BenCab in Two Movements hopes to provide museum visitors immersive experiences at the same time curatorial information on shared art experiences between a painter and a dancer.

It will be display at the Samsung’s SUHD and UHD TV once done creating your personal messages on four tablets station.  This is very cool since personalized, you have to select your own style like choosing colors (free to choose from the list), stroke (free style), font style and font size.

The exhibit uses customized Smart TV and mobile apps to enhance interactive experiences that are both artful and enjoyable. With digitalized works from BenCab’s sketchbooks, a museum visit is now fun, informative and exciting.

By leveraging its strengths in technology, Samsung provides an ecosystem for digital art creation and presentation,” Guibone concluded.

Featuring the Samsung TV technology

The SUHD and UHD TVs feature Smart TV functions powered by Tizen, giving viewers easy access to their favorite content. These functions will take center stage at the digital exhibit, BenCab in Two Movements set to delight museum audiences beginning October 1 at the Yuchengco Museum.


Alongside the digital exhibit, Samsung unveils the Galaxy Note 5 BenCab Limited Edition, as a means underscoring the seamless convergence of art and technology. This comes with a specially designed box, an art booklet, a customized hard case.
